Pattern includes instructions for both pull-up and snapping versions as well as underwear. Sized from 12 months to 5T all pattern pieces are computer drawn and printed on 24"x36" 20# drafting paper, along with detailed illustrated instructions for easy assembly.

Suggested Fabric:
PUL or Fleece as a water resistant CENTER PANEL or knit fabric if making undies or non water resistant use similar knits as the SIDE PANELS. Interlock, Jersey, Rib Knit or any knit fabric (cotton is recommended for underwear) for the SIDE PANELS, and absorbent material for INNER SOAKER layers (such as flannel, birdseye, etc). Pre-washing fabric is not crucial, however to insure proper sizing pre-shrunk fabric is recommended. If shrinking occurs, a slightly smaller garment will result.
Yardage Required:
Very little material is needed for the construction of Stellar Transitions. The largest CENTER PANEL piece is approx 17x8” and an 8x16”piece, or two 8x8” pieces, of knit material (with stretch along the 16”) is the maximum needed for the SIDE PANELS. INNER SOAKER pieces at maximum are under 13.5 x just over 4” wide.
Notions Recommended:
Scissors, poly thread, marking pen, straight pins, ballpoint machine needle. If sewing with a machine that lacks a stretch stitch, use wooly nylon in the bobbin and use a straight stitch. Fold over elastic for binding and size 16-20 poly resin snap enclosures for snapping version.
Machines and Methods:
Stellar Transitions can be sewn entirely on a regular sewing machine, or with a serger, instructions for both are included. Note that you will not be able to complete the entire assembly process with a serger. Some steps require a regular sewing machine.
