Little Comet Tails - Little Starter Cloth Diaper

The Little Starter Cloth Diaper pattern has evolved over the last 2 1/2 years and has been tested on hundreds of babies of all shapes and sizes. Pattern includes instructions for making FOE covers with or without gusset, T&T fitteds and AIO's and even serged fitteds and AIO's all in one pattern with no modifications needed. Sized from XS to XL all pattern pieces are computer drawn and printed on 24"x36" 20# drafting paper, along with a 12-page booklet style instruction manual for easy assembly.

Suggested Fabric:
Pre-washing fabric helps to insure proper sizing. AIO Outer Fabric and Cover Fabric: Fleece, PUL. AIO Inner Fabric and Fitted Inner and Outer Fabric: cotton, hemp, or bamboo knits (interlock, knit terry, velour, french terry, jersey) or wovens (flannel, birdseye, terry) with no more than 20% polyester fiber content. Decorative Cover Outer Fabric: polyester or cotton woven print.

Yardage Required:
45” wide: XS - 1/2yd yields 4 layers, S - 1/2yd yields 3 layers, M -5/8yd yields 3 layers. L/XL - 5/8yd yields 2 layers. 60” wide XS - 5/8yd yields 7 layers, S - 5/8yd yields 5 layers, M - 5/8yd yields 4 layers, L/XL - 5/8yd yields 3 layers.

Notions Recommended:
Scissors, polyester or cotton thread (match fiber content of fabric), marking pen, straight pins, ballpoint machine needle. If sewing with a machine that lacks a stretch stitch, use wooly nylon in the bobbin and use a straight stitch. Polybraid elastic or lastin for AIO and fitted, fold over elastic for covers. Hook and Loop, such as Touchtape/Aplix (velcro brand not recommended), or size 16-20 poly resin snap enclosures.

Machines and Methods:
Little Starter Cloth Diapers can be sewn entirely on a regular sewing machine, or with a serger, instructions for both are included.
